Job Description

The 2nd shift Production Trainer is responsible for the full onboarding and training of all production positions at the service center. The Production Trainer will ensure proper repair and assembly technique is being followed for safety, quality and all local and company-wide processes and procedures. Works closely with leadership to identify opportunities for ongoing training of existing and new processes. This individual must be fully bilingual in spanish, to help coach, train and document new processes.

Shift: 2nd Monday - Friday; 3:30pm to Midnight

Major/Key Accountabilities

Leverages existing policies and procedures to provide hands-on training for all production positions including but not limited to pallet repair operators, forklift operators.

Guides and coaches on techniques and processes, serving as a peer leader to others.

Trains all production employees on existing operational processes and new processes; driving consistency in applied techniques and compliance of established policies.

Deliver best operational practices and cost efficiencies across the Plant while maintaining critical quality and raw material utilization standards that are necessary to maintain customer satisfaction and Plant profitability.

Ensure compliance through teamwork for all applicable Standard Operating Procedures as established in the Process Control Plan and Repair Technique.

Monitors and tracks the training plan for new production employees.

Leverages learning management systems to track completion of all required training in academy; monitors and ensures completion of all required training.

Continuously evaluates trainees’ progress and delivers feedback to plant leadership, shift and operations supervisors.

Partners with Supervisors and HR to identify onboarding and training process improvements.

Partners with supervisors and leads on identifying training opportunities for existing employees and develops training plans that may assist with production improvement.

Maintains appropriate training certifications and remains abreast of changes to processes.

Qualifications

High School Diploma required, Associates Degree in Business or Educational training is preferred

Must be fully bilingual in Spanish

Proven experience of working within Production, Operations or Factory environment as an Area Trainer or equivalent

Certified repair operator (internal requirement)

Demonstrated upper tier performance in both quality and productivity

Strong inter-personal skills; demonstrated ability to give effective instruction

Must be well-versed in the Repair Technique and Inspection Criteria in order to provide accurate guidance and instruction.

Experience

Ability to facilitate training in small to large groups is required

Ability to interface with Automated Systems and training databases is required

Strong communication skills are required

Proficient use of Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, and PowerPoint)

Ability to work independently and in a team environment

Ability to work a flexible schedule as needed

Ability to understand plant KPIs (production, quality, safety, and our processes)

Flexibility to adjust training techniques according to individual learning abilities

Basic working knowledge of Health and Safety policies and procedures

Prior experience in a leadership role is strongly preferred

Physical Requirements

Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and capable of standing for long periods of time, intermittent stooping/bending, pushing/pulling, reaching above shoulder, and repetitively rotating hand/wrist/forearm with or without accommodation.

Working Conditions

The role may involve working in a warehouse or manufacturing environment. 

Exposure to noise, dust, and varying temperatures may occur. 

Personal protective equipment (PPE) required.
