HOURS: 8 hours per day / 5 days a week between 7:30 AM and 4:00 PM, not to exceed 40 hours per week.QUALIFICATIONS:U.S. CitizenAt a minimum, must have a medical/technical background obtained through education or on-the-job training in the pharmaceutical field and be a high school graduate or equivalent.Must have computer and typing skills.Must have experience working as a Pharmacy Technician for at least one year or have a certificate of training for Pharmacy Technician services. College level training in the sciences and mathematics.Past correctional experience is desirable but is not required.Shall provide proof of CPR certificationRecent testing for immunity to Tuberculosis or other communicable disease.To be considered, please submit a copy of your current resume, photocopies of documentsevidencing education and training.RESPONSIBILITIES:Reading and interpreting prescriptions and medication orders written by medical staff, selection and retrieval of medications of correct strength and dosage from prescribed, transcribing prescription data to labels using typewriters or computer systems.Preparing prescriptions for review by a BOP/Public Health Service (PHS) Pharmacist prior to dispensing,Giving pertinent patient instructions when appropriate.Will not fill, issue and/or deal in any way with DEA controlled substances, but can beresponsible for the running of all pill lines upon proper orientation by the Pharmacist.Assist the Pharmacist in ensuring the only medications listed in the approved BOP Formulary are dispensed and will ensure that request for Non-Formulary medicationsare initiated and submitted to the Pharmacist for approval.Should be proficient in maintaining adequate inventories of all medications and medical supplies and preparing the proper paperwork for replenishment of inventory, as well as maintaining anexpiration date log to ensure that no outdated or expired stock remains in the inventory.Assist in updating patient education literature, assisting in improvement of performance studies and also assist the Pharmacist in meeting policy guidelines.Prepare recommended supply lists to order pharmaceuticals,Maintain the pharmacy areas in a clean and orderly fashion,Maintain stock of appropriate forms utilized in the pharmacy department,Shall, in the absence of the Pharmacist, maintain the Pharmacy operation, within guidelines governing the duties of the Pharmacy Technician.Prescriptions must be reviewed by a Pharmacist prior to dispensing to the inmate population.Should be able to accurately input a minimum of 25 prescriptions per hour.BENEFITS:
