The X-Ray Technologist is responsible for producing high quality radiographs following AFC X-ray protocols, procedures and Department of Health regulatory compliance in an efficient and accurate manner.
Essential Functions/Responsibilities
Performing the more common X-ray studies: Chest, Extremity, Spinal X-ray and Abdomen X-rayProperly documenting X-ray studies performed and facilitating the communication between the Provider and Radiologist by using all internal X-ray and care coordination softwareKeeping an accurate record of QC log books including pregnancy consent form, daily check off list, patient log book, repeat/rejects so as to be fully compliant with the Department of HealthTroubleshooting equipment and software malfunctions and informing Site Manager and X-Ray Manager when service needs to be contactedAssisting with patient flow and utilizing the flag system to maintain good communication between all clinical staff membersPerforming vital signs and documenting results in the EMRHelping maintain the cleanliness of the site, including waiting room, exam rooms, labs, common work areas, X-ray suite, and break roomEnhancing the culture of healthcare by providing exceptional patient care, safety, and best practiceQualifications
Graduation from an accredited X-Ray Technologist programStrong communication skills in order to provide clear instructions to patients on the process of procedures performedThe ability to:perform basic X-rays of the chest, hand, wrist, forearm, elbow, knee, foot or ankleposition patients for X-ray, adjust restriction devices and equipment to set exposure factorsdetermine patient's' X-ray needs by accurately interpreting special instructions from the provideruse beam-restrictive devices and patient-shielding techniques to minimize radiation exposure to patient and staff (ALARA principle)Flexibility with full-time work schedule including weekendsStrong aptitude for detail, organizational skills, problem solving capabilities, communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work independently, or with a team of healthcare professionalsHave functional and practical knowledge of various computer systemsHappy, positive, creative thinker, committed to building and maintaining healthy working relationship.$37/hr
