Varying Shifts: Potential for Days/Evenings 8/10/12hrsRN First Assistants
are responsible for the following:Provide patient care and support before and after the surgery.
Prepares all surgical tools and supplies needed for procedures.
Practice surgical procedures that include controlling bleeding, draping, etc.
The
RN First Assistant
is a registered nurse who assists the surgeon by monitoring the patient during procedures and by providing nursing care during a specific time period.
Qualifications for this position include:Education:Graduate of an accredited school of nursing required; BSN or completion of BSN or appropriate advanced degree within 3 years of hire strongly preferred. Graduate of a CAAHEP (ARC/STSA) accredited school of Surgical Assisting required.Experience:One year of surgical assisting experience preferred.Other Requirements:BLS and ACLS required based on organizational guidelines/polices.
