Job Summary:

Montclair Breast Center is seeking an Ultrasound Technician, or Sonographer, is responsible for using ultrasound equipment to help visualize internal anatomy functions. Their duties include calibrating and manipulating ultrasound equipment to conduct appointments, taking pictures or videos of potential abnormalities and discreetly notifying medical personnel if they identify something concerning.

Essential Functions :

The duties of an Ultrasound Technician go beyond diagnosing ailments. Other responsibilities include:Use sonographic equipment to identify and observe the area(s) of concernPrepare the exam room for examinations and assist Radiologists with vascular ultrasound procedures and ultrasound-guided biopsiesReport to the appropriate medical staff of any abnormalities that require immediate attentionMaintain sonography equipment and report machinery failureConduct scan tests and write reports based on the resultsManage several patients and priorities and be able to adapt to a fast-paced work environmentWork under minimal supervision and cooperate with other team membersMake and download outside CD'sQuality Assurance on equipment.Also see attached Flat Field Digital QC Tests 2000DS, Flat Field Digital QC Test Essential, and QA Assurance Policy.Qualifications:

Current State License and ARRT registrySpecialized training in mammography (continuing education/certificates)Continuing education- this requirement specifies that an average of 5 ECE's/year be specific to mammography)Continuing experience in mammography (effective 4/1999)Other details
