What will you do as a Dental Hygienist?
Your responsibilities include performing initial patient evaluations, cleaning teeth, and providing guidance on oral health and prevention. You'll work closely with dentists to determine appropriate treatments for various dental conditions. To succeed, you should be trustworthy and possess excellent communication skills, as well as a keen understanding of health and safety regulations.
Key Responsibilities:
Ensure patient comfort before examinations
Properly sterilize dental instruments
Conduct comprehensive mouth screenings and review oral health history
Identify dental conditions, including gingivitis and periodontitis
Clean teeth and apply preventive measures, such as fluoride treatments
Educate patients of all ages on effective oral care techniques
Provide post-operative instructions to patients
Take X-rays and dental impressions as needed
Assist in recommending treatment plans for dental diseases
Maintain precise patient documentation and charts
Monitor and manage dental supply inventory
Required Skills:
Experience as a Dental Hygienist or in a similar role
Valid Dental Hygiene license
Extensive knowledge of health and safety standards in dental practice
Ability to prepare and maintain dental equipment
Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills
Friendly and patient demeanor
Meticulous attention to detail
Physical stamina to meet job demands
A Diploma in Dental Hygiene is preferred
