A minimum of 2 years' experience in performing Echocardiograms, or candidates with an Associate's degree and at least 6 months of experience may be considered.Required:

Must be credentialed with ARDMS as an RDCS or RDMS.POSITION SUMMARYAs a highly skilled Cardiac Ultrasound Technician, you will conduct specialized cardiac ultrasound investigations using advanced techniques such as pulsed and continuous wave Doppler, color flow mapping, and tissue Doppler imaging. You will also be responsible for producing tracings of heart electrical activity through electrocardiography (ECG) equipment setup, operation, and recording of cardiac data while ensuring patient comfort and safety.ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIESPerform adult transthoracic 2D-M mode Color flow Doppler echocardiograms, pharmacological and nuclear stress testing, and stress echocardiograms.Assist with transesophageal (TEE) echocardiograms when required.Conduct standard and complex measurements with precision, providing preliminary clinically-diagnostic findings independently.Prepare for examinations by reviewing physician orders and patient schedules, and setting up equipment.Help reduce patient anxieties by explaining procedures and answering questions.Apply electrodes and conductive gel appropriately during procedures.Connect leads from ECG, Echo, or Stress equipment to patients accurately.Review patient records and provide clear instructions prior to procedures.Monitor patients throughout procedures and alert staff of any abnormal findings.Identify and resolve issues such as wandering, interference, and artifact.Edit and forward results to the attending physician for further analysis.Maintain and manage ECG, echocardiography, and stress testing equipment and supplies.POSITION REQUIREMENTSA. EducationHigh School diploma or GED.Completion of a program related to sonography with an emphasis on echocardiography or equivalent on-the-job training.B. Qualifications/ExperienceA minimum of 2 years’ experience in performing echocardiograms. Candidates with an AS degree and at least 6 months of related experience will also be considered.Must be credentialed by the American Registry for Diagnostic Medical Sonographers (ARDMS) as a Registered Diagnostic Cardiac Sonographer (RDCS) or Registered Diagnostic Medical Sonographer (RDMS). Candidates with the Registered Cardiac Sonographer (RCS) credential from Cardiovascular Credentialing International (CCI) and 5 years of relevant experience may be considered in lieu of ARDMS certification.C. Special Skills/KnowledgeBilingual skills in Spanish are preferred.Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.Crisis Prevention Institute (CPI) Blue Card (within 90 days of hire).Strong written and verbal communication skills.Basic organizational and computer skills.Demonstrated ability to work effectively as part of a team.Knowledge of patient and family teaching principles.
