Director of Sales

A notable luxury event catering company in the San Francisco Bay Area seeks a strategy driven Director of Sales to help lead and grow the company’s book of business as well as support and develop the events team in delivering exceptional results. The Director of Sales will be an inspiring leader of a small sales team who will help create the strategy and KPIs, support and measure KPIs, and deliver results for the luxury catering and venue sales. This role will drive revenue growth and elevate the brand presence. This role requires expertise in team leadership, sales strategy, and analytics, ensuring both new business acquisition and long-term client retention. Candidates should have a strong background in creating unforgettable experiences for corporate, social, and private clients and delivering tailored events that set the industry standard in upscale luxury hotels/restaurants and/or catering.

This role will be based in Emeryville CA.

The ideal candidate will:

  • Grow our company’s book of business by understanding how our various business development objectives intersect.
  • Lead, mentor, and develop the Account Executive team.
  • Develop and execute a strategic sales plan to achieve annual revenue targets.
  • Utilize data analytics & CRM tools to track performance and refine sales tactics.
  • Contribute to the development and refinement of the Company’s strategic planning.
  • Oversee Sales Department & co-manage Marketing budgets.
  • Cultivate relationships with clients as well as corporate, social, and wedding planners, luxury hospitality partners and Destination Management Companies.
  • Lead contracts, pricing, and partnership efforts to optimize bookings and profitability.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with new and existing clients, ensuring a luxury service experience that drives loyalty and referrals.
  • Develop strategic partnerships with venues, planners, and high-end brands to drive long-term revenue growth.

Requirements

  • 7–10 years of sales experience in catering, hospitality, or event sales.
  • Proven track record of exceeding revenue targets.
  • Expertise in sales analytics, forecasting, and CRM tools.
  • Strong leadership and relationship-building skills.
  • Flexibility to attend evening/weekend events as needed.
  • Established industry network and knowledge of high-end clientele needs a plus.
