About the Role
The Company is seeking a Vice President for Business Development in the Northeast region of the United States. The successful candidate will be a key player in driving strategic partnerships, with a focus on multi-modality discovery partnerships through IND-enabling studies. This role requires a dynamic individual with a proven track record in business development, including the ability to sign multiple strategic deals annually. The VP will be responsible for leading a team of business developers, establishing long-term relationships with partners, and ensuring the company's position as the partner of choice in the territory. A passion for innovation, collaboration, and a deep understanding of the drug discovery and development paradigm across various modalities is essential.Applicants for the Vice President of Business Development position at the company should have a minimum of a BSc, MSc, or PhD in a life sciences discipline, or an advanced degree such as an MBA, with over 10-15 years of experience in the pharmaceutical or biotech industry. A strong network in the Cambridge/Boston ecosystem, particularly across pharma, biotech, and venture capitalists, is highly valued. The role demands a leader with strong analytical, presentation, and negotiation skills, who is self-motivated, strategic, and capable of working within a fast-paced, global, multi-national, multi-cultural organization. The ideal candidate will be a team player with a passion for talent development, and a proven ability to influence both internally and with partners. Financial acumen and the ability to maximize deal structures for the benefit of the company are also key qualifications for this role.
