Due to continued company growth, we have an immediate need for an Electrical Estimator. This is a fulltime, direct hire role, fully onsite out of our Canoga Park location.

Job Details

Is your background a match?

* 5+ years of estimating, cost control and/or engineering experience related to electrical construction
* Successful track record estimating and negotiating large, complex projects
* Thorough knowledge of company procedures, estimating techniques and estimating software
* Able to successfully coordinate and supervise group work effort
* Superior technical, analytical, organizational and communication skills
* Knowledge of Accubid and Accubid Live Count Software is a plus!
* Able to come into the Canoga Park office 5 days per week (non negotiable)

What will you be doing?

* Coordinate total estimating effort relevant to particular bid or project
* Provide complete conceptual and final estimating input on complex projects
* Review proposal specifications, drawings, attend pre-bid meetings, etc., to determine the scope of work and required contents of project estimate
* Review and incorporate historical data from purchase orders, subcontracts, productivity analysis reports, etc., into unit and man-hour figures
* Prepare estimates by calculating complete takeoff of scope of work using the estimating software
* Ascertain any risks related to the estimate in order to guarantee that provisions are made for those risks in the tender
* Ensure that estimates are complete, well-organized and ready for review before the given deadline
* Maintain files of working documents as back-ups
* Coordinate with the field operations team on successful bids to provide a thorough transition to the project team
* Provide leadership and mentor junior estimators and other members of the Preconstruction group
