Job Details

The Controller is responsible for overseeing the organization's accounting operations and financial reporting. This includes managing the general ledger, accounts payable and receivable, payroll, budgeting, and regulatory compliance.

Oversee the accounting and finance functions for six different legal entities encompassing businesses in marketing, media, events, real estate brokerage, adventure travel, and bucking bull investorsPrepare and analyze monthly financial statements, ensuring accuracy and compliance with accounting standards and present detailed reports to upper managementLead annual budgeting process for multiple departments, aligning financial plans with organizational goalsDevelop and implement forecasting models to aid in strategic decision-making and long-term planningReview and prepare balance sheet reconciliations and month end journal entries, ensuring accuracy and completenessSupervise accounts payable and accounts receivable functions, optimizing cash flow and vendor relationshipsPrepare data for audits and tax returns to ensure compliance with all regulationsManage payroll processing, including the calculation and distribution of commissions and other compensationImplement and maintain effective internal controls and accounting policiesSupervise and develop the accounting teamCoordinate with CPA on tax preparation, filings and audits as required

Qualifications:Bachelor’s degree in accounting or finance; CPA certification preferred7+ years of progressive accounting/finance experience, with at least 3-5 years in a Controller or senior-level roleStrong knowledge of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP), financial reporting, and regulatory complianceProficient in financial analysis, budgeting, and forecastingExcellent leadership, communication, and problem-solving skillsExperience with accounting software and data analysis toolsAbility to manage multiple projects simultaneously and multi-task in a fast-paced environment
