We are seeking a dedicated, detail-oriented, and experienced Legal Assistant to join our dynamic team on a permanent basis. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing case files, conducting state and federal filings, using Compulaw docketing, monitoring deadlines, and maintaining attorney calendars. They will also coordinate billing, prepare and update case status reports for clients and attorneys, and handle mail. This role requires a strong background in legal research, legal case management, and cm/ecf filing. The ideal candidate will have at least 5 years of civil litigation experience and a background in employment law or labor law.

Responsibilities:
Prepare and update case status reports for clients and attorneys, ensuring all parties are kept abreast of developments and progress.Organize and prepare folders for paralegals and attorneys, maintaining an efficient and easily accessible filing system.Handle incoming and outgoing mail, ensuring all correspondence is dealt with promptly and accurately.Conduct legal research on various topics relating to civil litigation and employment law, providing comprehensive and accurate information to support case preparation.Manage legal cases from inception to closure, coordinating with various parties to ensure smooth progress and timely resolution.Handle CM/ECF filings, ensuring all documents are filed correctly and within the stipulated deadlines.Draft, proofread and edit legal documents, demonstrating exceptional legal writing skills and a keen eye for detail.
Qualifications:
Minimum of 5 years of experience as a Legal Assistant or equivalent role, with a strong focus on civil litigation and employment law.Proven experience with CM/ECF filing, legal research, and case management.Exceptional legal writing skills, with a demonstrated ability to draft, proofread and edit a range of legal documents.Excellent organizational skills, with the ability to manage multiple tasks and priorities in a fast-paced environment.Strong attention to detail, ensuring all work is completed accurately and to the highest standard.Solid understanding of legal procedures and terminology, particularly in relation to civil litigation and employment law.Proficiency in using legal software and Microsoft Office Suite.Bachelor’s degree in law or related field is preferred.Paralegal certification would be an added advantage.
