DL - Direct LendingDepartment OverviewGolub Capital Credit Opportunities (“GCCO”) has a flexible mandate to deliver creative, customized financing solutions throughout the capital structure. Our solutions are tailored to meet the needs of sponsors, management, shareholders and other key stakeholders across a range of industries and financeable assets.Primary strategies include:Corporate Credit (including senior / junior debt and preferred equity)Portfolio and Fund Finance (including NAV and GP financing)Structured Products (CLOs, SRTs, etc.)Position ResponsibilitiesThis role requires a hands-on contributor with significant credit, deal execution and legal documentation experience.Responsibilities include:Credit Secondaries New Deals (Primary responsibility)Responsible for all aspects of deal evaluation, structuring, due diligence and legal documentation for secondary purchases of individual middle market loansSourcing and evaluating credit secondary investment opportunitiesConducting thorough due diligence, including financial analysis, market research and risk assessmentPreparing and presenting Investment Committee memorandums to the Investment CommitteeNegotiating and structuring secondary transactions, ensuring favorable terms for the FirmMonitoring and managing existing secondary investments, providing regular updates to senior managementBuilding and maintaining relationships with advisors and other market participantsStaying abreast of market trends and developments in the secondary marketCredit Opportunities New Deals (Secondary responsibility)Evaluating investment opportunities including portfolio purchases, loans to funds (NAV loans) and specialty financings (such as participations in debtor-in-possession loans and rescue financings)Analyzing structured equity investments as well as equity co-investments associated with loans under consideration for purchaseConducting detailed business diligence such as analysis of business, industry, competitive landscape, financial / KPI trends, liquidity and exit strategyPreparing and presenting Investment Committee memorandums to the Investment CommitteeStructuring and negotiating investment terms and deal documentation with counterpartiesDeveloping financial models to review multiple scenariosDeveloping strong working relationships with key departments of Golub Capital including Capital Markets, Broadly Syndicated Loans and Structured ProductsManaging and monitoring existing investments; performing portfolio analytics and assisting in valuationsDetermining viability for additional investment opportunities, divestments or potential restructuring for portfolio investmentsTraining junior team membersOther duties as assignedCandidate RequirementsQualifications & Experience:Bachelor’s Degree required, preferably with a major in Finance, Accounting, Economics or related financial discipline with an outstanding record of academic achievement. MBA or JD not required but a plus.8+ years of leveraged lending experience with at least 6 years of buy-side experience in public and private opportunistic and special situations creditStrong knowledge of the credit markets, particularly in the distressed / special situations spaceFlexible investment approach to take advantage of an evolving investment landscapeExperience working with financial sponsors is a plus, but not a requirementAbility to effectively communicate with internal groups and external clientsHigh sense of urgencyCapacity to manage multiple processes simultaneouslyAbility to work to meet tight deadlines, using own initiative and without close supervision; strong work ethicAbility to manage changing demands in fast-paced environmentDetail-oriented and comfortable with writing and presenting detailed memos / analytics to Investment CommitteeEnthusiastic about working in office and creating a Gold Standard hybrid work cultureCritical Competencies for SuccessOur Gold Standards

Demonstrates knowledge of legal documentation, processes and procedures.Compensation & BenefitsFor Illinois and New York Only: It is expected that the base salary range for this position will be $290,000 to $300,000. Actual salaries may vary based on factors such as skills, experiences and qualifications for the role. The total compensation package for this position may also include other elements and discretionary awards in addition to a full range of medical, financial and / or other benefits (including 401(k) eligibility and various paid time off benefits such as vacation, sick time and parental leave) dependent on the position offered. Details of participation in these benefit plans will be provided if an employee receives an offer of employment.
