The primary focus of the Director of Clinical Education (DCE) is to establish clinical education opportunities for students in the Physician Assistant Studies program. The Director will be responsible for developing relationships with clinical institutions and preceptors to secure placements for students, foster development of clinical preceptors, coordinate on-campus seminars for second year students, contribute to curriculum development, and prepare students for the Physician Assistant National Certifying exam (PANCE). This position also includes teaching, scholarship and service responsibilities, commensurate with level of faculty appointment. The faculty position will be appointed at a rank commensurate with the candidate’s education, experience, and record of accomplishment.QualificationsTime spent in the areas below are discussed based on needs of the program, but are generally considered to be:Administration: 60%. Coordinates all clinical education activities for the PA program.Teaching: 20%. Teaches in area of expertise and program needs.Service: 10%. Serves on Department, School and Institute Committees; participates in professional activities; advises students.Scholarship: 10%. Participates in scholarship activities commensurate with level of faculty appointment.Note: Specific responsibilities will be subject to change based on the needs and budgetary resources of the program.
