Job Description

We are seeking a dedicated and responsible Security Guard to join our team for the 2nd shift. The primary role of this position is to ensure the safety and security of all patients, team members, visitors, physicians, and volunteers within our facility and its surrounding areas.

This role involves conducting foot and vehicular patrols, assisting with restraining violent patients, and maintaining a positive image of the organization.

Responsibilities

• Ensure a safe environment for all patients, team members, visitors, physicians, and volunteers by conducting foot patrols of the facility and parking areas, as well as vehicular patrols of parking areas and off-site locations. Assist with restraining violent patients as needed.
• Ensure quality outcomes for the security department by communicating effectively with security team members and the public.
• Use time and resources in a financially responsible manner.
• Foster group cohesiveness within the security department.
• Portray a positive image of the organization.
• Access non-pharmacy medication areas as necessary to perform assigned duties in accordance with Policy #101-22-001.

Essential Skills

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Previous security experience, preferably in a hospital setting, required.
• Valid U.S. driver's license required.
• Must qualify for a Maryland Special Police Commission.

• Strong communication skills
• Ability to work under supervision
• Experience with data entry
• Patience and mental health awareness

Available Shifts and Pay

• 1st shift: 8am-4pm
• 2nd shift: 4pm-12am (+$1.48 shift differential)
• Must be available to work weekends
• $18.15-$22 per hour, based on experience.

Work Environment

This role involves considerable physical activity, including heavy lifting, pushing, or pulling objects up to 50 pounds. The work environment includes exposure to potentially dangerous materials and situations requiring extensive safety precautions and the use of protective equipment. You will frequently encounter unusual elements such as extreme temperatures, toxic chemicals, biohazardous materials, dirt, dust, fumes, smoke, and loud noises.

The pay range for this position is $37752.00 - $51792.00/yr.
