    Job Requirements
  • 2 years of CORE experience required in specialty being submitted to; Level 1 Trauma and Teaching experience required
  • RN with strong MedSurg experience required, Rehab experience preferred
  • Candidates can NOT work another assignment/contract while working for Dignity AZ (Cannot work two contracts at the same time)
  • Must be gone from commonspirit for 12 months as perm staff, to be considered for a travel assignment
  • Prophecy Dysrhythmia Exam required 24-48hrs prior to acceptance of a position. Maximum attempts is 2: Required for: Ambulance Transport, Cardiac Cath Lab, ICU, CVICU, EP Lab, ER, Helicopter Transport (Flight), House Supervisor, PACU/Recovery, PCU, PICU, Pre-op/PACU, Stepdown, Telemetry/IMC, Transitional ICU/TCU units. IF FAILED, will be DNU for 6 months within Commonspirit AZ and Sacramento Region
    Schedule Information
  • Weekly Orientations, Mondays, except for holiday weeks
  • Shifts: 9 hr shifts. RNs Start times 0630a, 2p, 10p; Techs - Start times 630a, 3p, 1130p
  • Weekend Requirement: 4 weekend shifts in 8 week period
  • Holidays: Work into core rotation
  • Floor specific orientation: 2 shifts

  • Unit: MS Neuro Rehab
  • # beds: 52
  • Ratios: RN 1:6, Tech 1:8
  • EMR: Cerner
  • Charge Nurse: 2 Charge RNs with a light assignment depending on census.
  • Nurse Aides: Yes
  • Tele: No
  • Vents: No
  • Hospitalist or Intensivist in house: 3 Rehab Physicians round daily. On-call at night.
  • IV Team: SWAT RN available for difficult IV sticks.
  • RT 24/7: Yes
  • Pharmacy 24/7: Yes
  • Floating: Yes, any MedSurg unit
  • Busy times 6-9a, 630-9p. Interdisciplinary team rounds. 5/7 days, 3hrs per day therapy. Average LOS 19-21 days.

  • NO FACIAL PIERCINGS AND ONLY NATURAL HAIR COLORS (no weird colors)
  • ONBOARDING DUE 1pm CST WEDNESDAY BEFORE START. THE FACILITY WILL NOT ALLOW ANYTHING TO BE PENDING, AND THEY WILL PUSH THE TRAVELER BACK IF THE FILE IS NOT COMPLETE BY THE DEADLINE.
  • Large Hospital experience >500 beds
  • Common diagnosis / Types of patients: 90% neuro population, low stimulation area, TBI, brain tumor resection, CVA, lung transplant, liver transplant.
  • Nurses need to be comfortable with high level of communication and personal involvement with patients and family. Partnership of care. Acute MedSurg care (IV therapy, wounds, etc.);12 hour nights, 4 total weekend shift per 4 weeks, 2 out of 3 major holidays
