Job Title: Registered Nurse (RN) PCU - Progressive Care Unit
We are seeking a skilled and compassionate Registered Nurse to join our team in the Progressive Care Unit at North Mississippi Health Services.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide high-quality patient care using the nursing process.
- Maintain compliance with NMHS policies and requirements as directed by the Nurse Manager and Educator.
Education and Training:
- Deliver effective patient/family education and serve as a resource for existing staff and new employees.
- Participate in preceptor training to ensure proper onboarding of new employees.
Communication and Teamwork:
- Maintain open communication with multidisciplinary team members to provide holistic care to patients.
- Attend daily unit huddles to ensure proper assignments and identify team members for each shift.
Customer Relations:
- Project a caring, friendly, and helpful image to patients and other customers.
- Utilize patient communication boards to keep patients and families informed about their care.
- Comply with NMHS behavioral standards.
Self-Development and Regulatory Knowledge:
- Maintain competency through ongoing education and professional development.
- Stay up-to-date on changing trends in nursing practice and regulatory requirements.
Licenses and Certifications:
- RN - State Licensure and/or Compact State Licensure (must be licensed to practice as a RN in the state of MS).
- Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) Certification (ACR or AHA).
- Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS), Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS), ASLS, and NIH Stroke Scale Certification may be required depending on the hiring department.
