Who We Are:
The Space Systems Directorate is a multidisciplinary team of engineers, program managers, and technicians to develop spaceflight missions, spacecraft, spacecraft avionics systems, spacecraft payloads, and lighter than air systems.
Objectives of this Role:
- This position is for an Assembly, Integration, and Test (AI&T) engineer.
- Report to the Spacecraft AI&T Manager and will support Space hardware/ Spacecraft throughout integration and environmental testing.
- Collaborate with Design Engineers, Integration Leads, and Project Managers to establish and execute integration and test plans on space flight hardware.
- Comfortable working in a multi-shift, fast pace environment with the ability to share information accurately in a timely fashion.
Daily and Monthly Responsibilities:
- Work with Design Engineers, Integration Leads, and Project Managers to ensure realization of planned space flight hardware integration and testing.
- Generate work instructions and test procedures to ensure appropriate and accurate implementation of plans into final products.
- Accurate and thorough documentation of executed work to generate detailed history of operations on space flight hardware.
- Lead integration efforts with a team of engineers/technologists/technicians to execute integration and test plans, including delegating tasks to team members.
- Prepare and present statuses and results of integration and test activities, for both internal and external facing reviews.
Requirements:
- Requires a Bachelors degree in Mechanical Engineering or related engineering degree field.
- Shift work required.
- 6-10 years: Hardware design, particularly precision mechanical or integrated electronics
- 6-10 years: Working within a quality management system (ISO 9001/AS9100/similar)
- 0-5 years: Operating in a clean (ISO 8 or better) environment.
- A valid/clear driver's license is required.
