A legal aid nonprofit in LA seeks a Managing Attorney to join their Executive Team with the primary responsiblity of ensuring that the organizaiton provides high quality, impactful legal services. In this role you will supervise Directing Attorneys (who supervise Staff Attorneys). This is a supervisor role, not a role in which you will provide legal services to clients. Role requires (a) 3+ years of legal experience working with underserved / vulnerable populations or working with a nonprofit (ideally both); (b) 3+ years of supervisory experience. This role is largely remote, with not more than 3 days in office per month. Compensation includes a base salary of $120,000-150,000 + a potential sign on bonus + superb benefits. salary: $120,000 - $150,000 per yearshift: Firstwork hours: 8 AM - 5 PMeducation: DoctoralResponsibilities Directing, supervising, supporting, managing, hiring, training, motivating, counseling and annually evaluating Project Directors Partnering with the organization's Pro Bono Director to develop relationships with pro bono counsel at some of the highest-profile law firms in the city and with Project Directors to effectively leverage pro bono resources.Partnering with the Director of Strategic Initiatives and Director of Program Operations to identify and support cross program initiatives that improve integration of systems, tracking of client data, and quality of client services and experience.Partnering with the COO to ensure commitment to DEIA is infused in every facet of the organization's programs.Partnering with the Chief Financial Officer in the annual budgeting process.Partnering across all the organization's departments to ensure there is clear programmatic alignment between policy, development, and operational strategies.Serving as an the organization's ambassador to community partners and government agencies.
