USPI Hyde Park Surgery Center

is seeking a motivated

RN PreOp PACU

to join our team. We have 3 OR rooms. We perform outpatient surgical procedures in ENT, Orthopedic, Pain Management, Spine.

Position requires weekdays only -- no holidays, weekends, or call.

Some early mornings and later evenings may be required; schedule subject to change based on surgical schedule and flow of the day.Job Summary:

Pre-Op responsibilities included but are not limited to admitting the patient to the clinical area and providing nursing care to the preoperative patient, as well as, developing a nursing care plan specifically designed for the individual patient. Post-Operative Care Unit (PACU) responsibilities include are not limited to patients entering the postoperative phase of treatment, responsible for assessing the patient's condition and readiness for discharge.

Employees may be cross trained in other clinical areas and may be expected to perform duties other than their normal ones as staffing and patient needs change.

#USP-RN#USP-123#LI-CM1Required Skills:Qualifications:Graduate of an accredited school of nursingCurrent Texas Nursing LicenseCurrent BLS, ACLS and PALSMinimum of 2 years' experience in Pre-Op/PACUPossess the ability to work independently and prioritize responsibilitiesPossess the ability to deal tactfully with patients, families, physicians, and employeesKnowledgeable of policies and procedures specific to pre-operative and PACU (post anesthesia care unit)Clinically proficient in pre-op/ PACU nursing skills, demonstrating knowledge of the development needs of the pediatric, adolescent, adult and geriatric patientPhysically and emotionally capable of performing responsibilities of position
