Title: Clinical Director

Location: Cohasset, Massachusetts

Reports to: Executive Director

The Clinical Director is responsible for the supervision of the clinical staff. They consult with the Executive Director, Physician and Utilization Review Department as needed. The Clinical Director maintains close communication with the clinical staff, provides any information relevant to the program's operation, and assists in developing and modifying the program. They monitor documentation by the clinical staff to ensure that documentation is maintained at the highest level.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: include the following, as well as performance of other work-related duties as assigned:

· Working closely with the nursing and counseling staff, is responsible for the selection, training, development and assessment of staff.

· Provides reports for Executive Director

· Assists in the development of and is responsible for implementation of policies and procedures for the operation of the clinic.

· Evaluates system processes and makes recommendations for improvements

· Adheres to Evoke’s MA performance expectations and performs all defined services and other related duties in accordance with the mission, vision and values of Evoke’s MA, including trauma informed care.

· Ability to implement program objectives, identify stakeholders and their interests, plan steps, coordinate and allocate human, technological and fiscal resources to accomplish goals and objectives in a resourceful yet timely manner.

· Training and experience to provide supervision, evaluation, and leadership to program staff as well as ability to understand and manage fiscal component of program and adhere to budgetary guidelines.

· Monitors program safety and ensures a safe environment for staff and clients.

· Communicates with all fields of management.

· Provides for clear lines of responsibility and accountability within all departments.

· Oversees general daily operations from a clinical and administrative perspective.

· Plans, organizes, and directs programs and services.

· Gives assistance on budget matters, and legal issues.

· Knowledge of all functions within the organization. Provides for well-managed facilities.

· Attends outside functions and conferences related to business development.

· Performs all duties delegated by Executive Director and Board of Directors.

· Abide by all EVOKE WELLNESS, MA Policies and Procedures in accordance with Bureau of Substance Addiction Services (BSAS) and JCAHO regulations

· Reporting and responding to issues of Co-Occurrence disorder of all clients to proper authorities, such as supervisor or nursing staff.

· Participate in training, as required, including e-learning

· Participate in Performance Improvement activities

· Accepts and utilizes supervision

· Addresses problems noted by supervisor

· Performs other assignments as requested by supervisor

· Demonstrates willingness to accept responsibility

· Completes all tasks with concern for work quality

SKILLS/ABILITIES:

· Excellent computer skills: experience with electronic health records preferred.

· Strong compassion for individuals with addiction and general working knowledge of substance use disorders.

· Demonstrates knowledge and understanding of standards of practice.

· Demonstrates knowledge of Code of Ethics.

· Being sensitive to Cultural Issues in the workplace, and clients.

· Demonstrate of competency and understanding to Addition.

· Ability to maintain confidentiality in all work performed

· Excellent verbal, presentation and written communication skills

· Excellent inter-personal skills to communicate and develop positive professional relationships with clients, staff and co-workers and outside professionals.

· Experience facilitating small groups/classes

· High level customer service experience

· Strong personal/professional boundaries

· High level communication, prioritization and time management skills

· Demonstrates Proficiency in Communication, observation & Written skills.

· Knowledge of State & Federal Statutes Regarding Patient Confidentiality laws.

· Knowledge of Drug-Free Workplace Policies.

· Knowledge of Corporate Integrity & Ethics

· Knowledge of addictions.

· Ability to interact with a multi-disciplinary team to assist in facets of the recovery program relating to physical health.

· Knowledge of the 12-Step Recovery Program.

· Knowledge and competency in problem solving, stress management, ethics and team building.

· Knowledge of Federal, State and Municipal laws and/or regulations that regulate the treatment of alcoholism and drug addiction, including:

o Confidentiality

o Patient Rights

o Professional Code of Ethics

o Discrimination

Flexibility to adapt to schedule changes and assumption of responsibilities not delineated in the job description which are related to work as a member of an addiction treatment team.

PREFERRED SKILLS:

· Experience working with people in crisis

· A minimum of 1 year in the corporate and health care fields preferred.

· Currently working at a Behavioral Health facility, substance abuse facility, or in a large acute care facility with a focus on substance abuse.

· Solid knowledge of behavioral health management practices and clinical operations.

· Human services community engagement experience

· Previous supervisory or Program Director experience

LICENSURE/CERTIFICATION: - Current and valid Massachusetts Driver License, LMHC, LICSW, LADC1

Experience:

· Licensed to practice clinical discipline in the appropriate state, as applicable, required. 1 year

· Three (3) years management experience, preferably in a clinical setting.

Education:

· Master of Social Work, Masters in Counseling or a related field with licensure required (LCSW, LCPC, LADC-I, LMHC).

Work Environment: Works in a professional environment including professional offices, clinics, hospitals, or out-patient facilities.

Physical Demands: While performing the duties of this position, the employee is regularly required to talk or hear. The employee frequently is required to use hands to finger, handle or feel objects, tools or controls. The employee is occasionally required to stand; walk; sit; reach with hands and arms; climb or balance; and stoop. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move objects up to 25 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this position include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, and the ability to adjust focus.
