About the Role:

We are seeking a highly qualified Director of Nursing (DON) to join our team at our Behavioral Hospital in Lutcher. As the DON, you will be responsible for overseeing the nursing staff and ensuring the highest level of patient care. You will work closely with the hospital leadership team to develop and implement policies and procedures that promote a safe and effective work environment. Additionally, you will be responsible for maintaining compliance with all regulatory agencies and ensuring that the hospital is meeting all quality standards.

Minimum Qualifications:

Current RN license in the state of Louisiana
Bachelor's degree in nursing or related field
Minimum of 5 years of nursing experience, with at least 3 years of psychiatric nursing experience and at least 2 years in a leadership role
Strong knowledge of nursing practices and procedures
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
knowledge of professional nursing principles, procedures and techniques used in the care and treatment of psychiatric patients.
Social, psychological and physical factors of mental and emotional disorders.

Preferred Qualifications:

Master's degree in nursing or related field
Experience in a behavioral health setting
Certification in nursing administration or national certification as a Psychiatric Nurse.

Responsibilities:

Oversee the nursing staff and ensure that all patient care is provided in a safe and effective manner
Develop and implement policies and procedures that promote a safe and effective work environment
Maintain compliance with all regulatory agencies and ensure that the hospital is meeting all quality standards
Collaborate with the hospital leadership team to develop and implement strategic plans for the hospital
Provide leadership and guidance to the nursing staff and promote a positive work environment

Skills:

As the Director of Nursing, you will utilize your strong leadership and communication skills to effectively manage the nursing staff and ensure the highest level of patient care. You will also use your knowledge of nursing practices and procedures to develop and implement policies and procedures that promote a safe and effective work environment. Additionally, your experience in a leadership role will be essential in providing guidance and support to the nursing staff. Your ability to collaborate with the hospital leadership team and maintain compliance with all regulatory agencies will be critical to the success of the hospital.
