This is a great opportunity to utilize your MDS skills in a small low acuity 30 bed Skilled Nursing Unit with low resident turnover. Full Time 8:30 a.m. - 5 p.m. Monday - Friday
Pay Rate: $72,800-$76,960 based on experience
Retention Bonus $5000.00

Required skills and qualifications:

1. RN currently licensed by the State of Alabama. Will consider an LPN.

2. Experience in an MDS role.

3. At least 6 months nursing experience. Geriatric involvement preferable.

Your responsibilities:

1. Coordinates, conducts, and completes the MDS, resident care plans and conferences on the computerized system.

2. Assures accuracy and completeness of entire medical record.

3. Assures and monitors that MDSs are completed within HCFA and Medicare guidelines.

4. Ensures MDS electronic submission occurs per State regulations.

5. Participates in family/resident care plan conferences.

6. Assures effective communication with other shifts and departments as it relates to medical record documentation.

7. Serves as a staff nurse when staffing levels necessitate in order to meet the needs of the residents.

8. Responds to emergency calls as necessary.

9. Assures timeliness of physicians visits.

10. Notifies physician and family of changes in residents condition.

11. Encourages rehabilitative techniques in order to restore residents independence.

12. Assists DON in developing and implementing medical records policies and procedures.

13. Attends in-service training and education sessions, as assigned.

14. Performs specific work duties and responsibilities assigned by supervisor.
