Inventory Control Clerk Metals USAGregor Technologies Division is seeking an Inventory Control Clerk in Torrington, CT. Metals USA is a solid, growth-oriented aluminum/stainless steel distribution center servicing the defense, aerospace, and fabrication industries.
The Inventory Control Clerk is responsible to stock, maintain and disburse inventory and make the appropriate revisions within the ERP system for all inventory transactions.
Responsibilities: - Stocks inventory items (vendor purchases, components, finished products and assemblies.
- Kits and disburses inventory items according to the ERP generated pick tickets and travelers.
- Picks finished goods in preparation for customer shipments.
- Records inventory transactions in computer data system in a timely manner.
- Participates in physical inventory counts.
- Notifies department manager of any inventory count or product discrepancies.
- Completes production paperwork, follows shop system data collection procedures and follows inspection procedures on a daily basis.
- Maintains work areas in a clean, orderly and safe manner to include returning tools to designated areas.
- Notifies management of product discrepancies or equipment malfunctions, and or personal injuries.
- Ensures compliance with established policies and procedures paying special attention to all safety regulations.
- Contributes to team effort by accomplishing related results as needed.
- Regular and predictable attendance is required to perform the duties of an Inventory Control Clerk.
- Adheres to established company policies and procedures paying special attention to safety regulations.
- Adheres to Reliance Steel and Aluminum's Code of Conduct as well as customer confidentiality requirements.
- Performs other related duties as assigned.
Physical Demands: Occupation requires physical activity more than 66% of the time (> 5.5 hours per day)
- Stand, walk, sit, handling/fingering, reach outward, reach above shoulder, climb, squat or kneel or bend
- Lift, carry, push and/or pull 51100 lbs. with assistance
Other Physical Requirements: - Must wear the proper personal protective equipment (PPE)
- Steel-toed boots
- Hard hats with chin strap; chin strap must be worn at all times while in the warehouse
- Protective eyewear
- Visual Acuity requires close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus
- Hand protection
- Arm guards/sleeves
- Hearing protection if required by the hearing conservation program
- High School Graduate or Equivalent
- Basic reading and writing comprehension in English (to read work order instructions).
- Basic ability to read mechanical drawings and blueprints
- Must have mechanical aptitude and arithmetic skills to calculate and convert decimals and
- Demonstrated manual dexterity, finger dexterity, arm-hand steadiness, and multi- limb coordination
- Computer Literacy; Microsoft Products, CAD Programming and ERP
