CREDIT OFFICER I CORPORATE BANKING, Food and Beverage VerticalWHAT IS THE OPPORTUNITY?Performs underwriting and portfolio management across the full origination cycle, including hands-on memorandum preparation, financial modeling, and enterprise valuation. Participates in the loan management process by providing underwriting and portfolio management expertise to the Food & Beverage vertical within the National Corporate Banking Division. Analyzes prospective loan transactions and credit worthiness of borrowers. Forms balanced and measured recommendations with mitigating factors to key potential risks and ensures all due diligence is complete and comprehensive before the final underwriting memorandum is submitted.What you will doUnderwrites multiple products and structures, including cash flow, asset-based, and working capital lines.Evaluates a range of targets in the Food & Beverage value chain, including value-added processors, branded CPG, co-manufacturers, and distributors.Underwrites new transactions with commitments typically $25-100 million to private and public borrowers across the sponsor and direct channels. Target clients typically have >$10 million of EBITDA and $100 million-$2 billion of revenue.Transaction types include strategic refinances, growth capital, recapitalizations, add-on acquisitions, LBOs, etc.Responsible for fully underwriting credit memorandums consistent with credit policies and procedures for new-to-bank clients in addition to managing a portfolio of borrowers across multiple Food & Beverage subsectors.Review and analyze sources and uses of funding, industry and competitive dynamics, key risks, mitigating factors to credit risks, collateral, historical financial statements and projections, third party reports (e.g., Quality of Earnings reports), and credit structure.Assumes primary role in early problem loan identification and timely and accurate changes in loan grades and risk ratings.Attends client meetings at Relationship Manager or Credit Manager's request. Contacts borrowers directly, for additional information and details related to loan request or clarification of financial materials and resources.Performs quarterly Problem Loan reporting for Criticized / Classified when appropriate. Takes a proactive approach toward development and implementation of Action Plans and escalates potential credit issues on a timely basis.Maintains up-to-date knowledge on all Bank lending policies and regulations.Coordinates loan documentation, legal diligence, and boarding processes.Reviews collateral periodically to minimize credit exposure.Participates in the training and development of Credit Analysts on the team.Must-Have*Bachelor's Degree or equivalentMinimum 3 years of experience in underwriting larger middle-market and mid-corporate-sized companies.Minimum 3 years of experience in a banking or financial services environment requiredSkills and KnowledgeCollege degree in Business Administration or a related field preferredMBA preferredFinancial modeling experienceAbility to communicate skillfully and effectively in both verbal/written forms.Good organizational skills.Ability to work well independently and in teams and interact effectively with all levels of Bank colleagues and outside contacts.Frequent use and application of leveraged lending credit policies and procedures.Excellent credit analysis and accounting skills.Strong ability to communicate skillfully and effectively in both verbal/written forms.Compensation
Starting base salary: $41.83 - $66.81 per hour. Exact compensation may vary based on skills, experience, and location.
