Job Overview:
Seeking a Board-Certified/Board-Eligible Adult Psychiatrist to provide inpatient psychiatric care on a temporary basis due to a provider leave of absence. This role requires experience in managing complex inner-city adult psychiatric patients.
Key Details:
- Setting: Inpatient Psychiatry
- Patient Volume: 10 patients per day, admitting/discharging 0-3 daily
- Average Length of Stay: 9 days
- Number of Beds: 10
- Additional Support Staff:
o Lead nurse and assigned social worker available daily
o Residents may assist with EMR troubleshooting if not in a teaching role
o Department Chair support until autonomous in patient care and EMR
- Admissions: Typically handled by evening/night staff; no admissions after 3 PM
- Legal Work: Some paperwork required for involuntary patients, but the court team handles most obligations
Requirements:
- PA Medical License
- Board Certified/Board Eligible in Psychiatry
- Experience with Inpatient Psychiatry within the past 10 years (preferably 5 years)
- Comfort with EMR systems (AeCIS/Cerner preferred)
- Teaching interest preferred (not required); opportunity to work with residents
