Psychiatric Registered Nurse Travel Assignment

Description:

We are seeking a skilled Psychiatric Registered Nurse to join our travel team for a 13-week assignment in Bridgeport, Connecticut.

Requirements:

• Active RN License
• Degree from accredited nursing program
• BLS Certifications
• Eighteen months of recent experience in an Acute Care Psychiatric setting

Duties and Responsibilities:

As a Psychiatric Registered Nurse, you will provide care for patients with mental health issues. You will assess, diagnose, and treat people with psychiatric problems, working collaboratively with medical providers and mental health staff to design and deliver patient care.

• Assess the mental health status of patients with behavioral challenges.
• Administer and monitor effectiveness and side-effects of psychotropic medications.
• Assist patients, and families as appropriate, to interpret and manage maladaptive behaviors and to plan healthy lifestyle changes.
• Exercise balanced judgement in evaluation situations and making decisions to handle difficult or confrontational situations in a professional manner.
