DUTIES:Prep patient for diagnostic imaging examRead doctor's notes as to why exam is being performedTake medical historiesProduce x-ray films of parts of the human body for use in diagnosing medical problems such as cancer or fracturesHave patient undress and remove jewelryExplain procedure to patientAscertain is patient is claustrophobicPosition patients so that the parts of the body can be appropriately radiographedPrepare solutions for patients to drinkSurround the exposed area with radiation protection devicesPosition radiographic equipment at the correct angle and height over the appropriate area of a patient's bodyMeasure the thickness of the section to be radiographedAdjust controls on the x-ray machine to produce radiographs of the appropriate density, detail, and contrast of the body partKeep patient recordsAdjust and maintain equipmentOther duties as assigned
