Job Description
The Position
This position is a member of the Production Control department. The Production Control Planner II will report directly to the Production Control Manager.
Job Description
Primary Responsibilities
  • Plans and schedules workflow for each department and operation according to previously established manufacturing sequences and lead times.
  • Analyzes production specifications and plant capacity data.
  • Confers with department supervisors to determine status of orders.
  • Expedites operations that are causing a delay in schedules.
  • Responsible for updating the appropriate Item Master Fields to support Engineering Changes, R&D, New Releases, and Drawing Updates.
  • Prepares list of required materials when needed.
  • Prepares various production reports.
  • Lead production meetings when needed to support Customer On-time Delivery
  • Ensures timely closure of completed work orders.
  • Responsible for the timely release of work orders to appropriate work centers.
Job Requirements
Education
  • Bachelor's Degree with more than 7 years of job-specific experience
  • Associate's Degree with more than 9 years of job-specific experience
  • High School Diploma or GED with more than 17 years of job-specific experience
Skills & Relevant Work Experience
  • 7 to 10 years Master Scheduling and Inventory Control experience
  • Experience in managing manufacturing processes, productivity, and efficiency measurements a plus
  • Strong analytical skills required
  • Good written & verbal communication skills required
  • Excellent understanding of Material Requirements Planning (ERP/MRP) and Capacity Planning
  • Self-starter with excellent organizational skills required
  • Strong computer skills (Information Systems; Microsoft Office; INFOR (XA, Mapics) or equivalent
  • APICS certification (CPIM or CSCP) a plus
  • Programming experience a plus
  • Lean/6S & 6 Sigma Training/Certification a Plus

Travel Requirements: Less than 25%
