Apolonia Restaurant, Chef Stephen Gillanders’ Michelin awarded restaurant in the South Loop, is hiring a Host to join its FOH team!

The 120-seater is at 2201 S. Michigan Avenue, near McCormick Place and Wintrust Arena. It’s on the ground floor of a tri-branded Hilton Hotel that opened in 2018.

Job information and benefits include:

• 2-4 shifts/week, in-time 4pm and we close at 10pm - most staff leaves at or before midnight
• You get paid weekly
• Health Insurance offered after 90 days of employment
• Routine wine and service classes
• Experience preferred but not necessary - we are willing to train the right person!

Below are the responsibilities that go with the role:

- Uphold the Apolonia Restaurant values and mission while performing responsibilities
- Welcome guests and act as first point of contact
- Communicate with managers, maitre d', kitchen staff, and service staff about guest requests, seating, changes in parties
- Organize floor plan to optimize flow of service for servers and kitchen/bar
- Communicate special requests to servers and bartenders
- Maintain composure in a fast paced, loud, and hot environment while staying exceptionally organized
- Answer phones and check messages
- Show guests to tables and explain menus, specials, or necessary information
- Answer guests’ questions about menus, service times, and availability
- Inform restaurant staff about customers’ feedback or requests
- Assist support team with stocking work stations, removing and resetting used dishes/silverware
- Answer questions about the food, beverage and restaurants as asked by guests
- Provide exemplary service to guests at all times
- Treat every guest, employee, and vendor with respect
- Report to work timely, presentable, and in proper uniform
- Promote teamwork within the restaurant, creating a positive work environment
- Ensure the highest levels of cleanliness and organization throughout the restaurant at all times
- Perform other job related activities as required or assigned by the manager
- Respond positively to guest's requests with a sense of urgency
- Execute daily side work with enthusiasm and motivation
