Job Details Position Overview:
We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Litigation Paralegal to support our litigation team in managing a variety of personal injury cases. As a critical member of our team, you will work closely with litigation attorneys, ensuring that cases progress smoothly and deadlines are met. This full-time, non-exempt position offers a dynamic and fast-paced environment where your attention to detail and organizational skills will play a vital role in case management. The position reports directly to one or more Litigation Attorneys.
Responsibilities:
- Case Management & Organization: Manage all aspects of case organization, including correspondence from clients, courts, and opposing counsel, ensuring timely and efficient handling of all documents.
- Medical Records Handling: Oversee the summary, organization and maintenance of medical records for case preparation, ensuring all records are up to date and accessible.
- Client Communication: Maintain clear, consistent communication with clients regarding case updates, discovery requests, and overall case strategy.
- Court Filings & Service of Process: File legal documents with state and federal courts, manage service of process, and ensure all filings comply with court rules and deadlines.
- Deadline Tracking: Proactively track and manage litigation deadlines, including discovery deadlines, expert testimony, depositions, mediations, hearings, and trial dates.
- Discovery Management: Prepare and respond to discovery requests, ensuring all documentation is accurate, complete, and filed in a timely manner.
- Case File Review: Conduct thorough reviews of case files, ensuring completeness, identifying missing records, and working to resolve any gaps.
- Case Management Software Utilization: Use GrowPath to streamline case management processes and track progress.
- Trial Preparation & Support: Assist in preparation for trials, depositions, and mediations, and provide ongoing support throughout the litigation process.
- Team Collaboration: Support litigation attorneys and collaborate with other team members to ensure cases are moving forward efficiently.
Qualifications:
- Experience and Education: High school diploma required, college degree preferred, with at least 5 years of experience in litigation, preferably personal injury. Knowledge of litigation processes and court systems is essential.
- Skills: Excellent organizational, communication, and analytical skills. Proficiency in case management software, particularly GrowPath, and a strong ability to manage deadlines and detail-oriented tasks.
- Preferred: Paralegal certification and familiarity with State Tort Claim Acts and Industrial Commission procedures.
