LeaderStat is seeking 1 Primary Care Physician Assistant for a VA (Veteran's Affairs) contract. $65 - $70 / hour or $135,000/year - $146,000 The contract will be a year-long assignment with services provided in the Fayetteville, NC area starting ASAP. Job Duties and Responsibilities Estimated 95% of the time involved in direct patient care. It is estimated that 5% of time not involved in direct patient care section meetings, participation in once to twice monthly peer review case review, Ongoing Providers Performance Evaluation (OPPE) participation, and morbidity & mortality conferences as appropriate. The PA shall be responsible for clinic appointments and follow-up of labs/imaging/procedures ordered during these appointments, interpretation, phone call consultation from hospitalists and intensivists on inpatients, and availability for case review with nurse practitioners on service. The PA shall be responsible for providing Family Practice and interventional Family Practice consultative services for assessment, diagnostic work-up and clinic intervention, including comprehensive patient assessment, health history, physical examination, and patient education to Veterans in the Primary Care team setting; outpatient include both scheduled and unscheduled Veterans. Order and evaluate diagnostic tests as appropriate, recommend treatment and/or referral. Record/document health appraisal information, clinical assessments, treatment decision, plan of care, ongoing management and therapeutic outcomes, order medications, diagnostic test and referral consultations where needed for every patient encounter; recording will be accomplished using the electronic comprehensive patient record system (CPRS) and will be completed on the day of the encounter. Qualifications At least two years of experience, preferably in a VA setting Physician Assistant, shall be Board Certified/Board Eligible Physician Services by the American Board of Family Practice and be currently certified in Basic Life Support (BLS), Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) or equivalency. All continuing education courses required for maintaining certification must be kept up to date at all times.
