  • A hospital in Southern Idaho is in need of a RN with Acute Inpatient Rehab hospital experience to work a 13 week travel assignment.
  • The nurse will be working 12 hour days and should have a medical-surgical background.
    Job Requirements
  • Must have 1 year experience
  • Okay with first time travelers
  • Must have MedSurg experience
  • If working night charge need to have charge experience and more than 1 year of experience.
    Schedule Information
  • RNs- 7-7
  • 6 week schedule, self-scheduling and scheduler will balance
  • Weekend Requirements: Every other. Days: Sat & Sun, Nights: Fri & Sat
  • Holiday Requirements: Will work if there is a need
    Unit Specific Information
  • This facility has a radius rule of 50 miles. To ensure adherence to this rule, we will require the candidates' perm address in the submittal to confirm they are outside of that specified radius before proceeding with the profile review.

  • Unit: Inpatient Rehabilitation Magic Valley Hospital
  • # of Beds: 14
  • Nurse:Patient Ratios: Days: 1:4-5. Nights: Will have 1 nurse for up to 7 patients, once census is over 7 will get a 2nd RN.
  • MDs like the patients to sleep through the night so no vitals etc. The only reason to wake a patient would be for IV abx or an blood sugar in the early hours.
  • If higher acuity pts they will make adjustments.
  • Common diagnosis / Types of patients: Stabilized strokes (1-2 days post stroke), brain injuries, spinal cord injuries, amputations, ortho, multitrauma, neuro- Parkinson's, MS, Guillain Barre.
  • Are RN's required to titrate drips: No
  • Common titratable &/or set rate drips: n/a
  • Tele/Monitor Techs on this unit: No.
  • Are RNs required to attend team conferences for acute inpatient rehab: No
  • Is there a Charge Nurse on each shift? Does the charge nurse take an assignment: Charge available on days. Nights- may be only 1 RN working so traveler would be charge.
  • Are there Nurse Aides on this unit/Ratios: 1:08.
  • PT/OT/SLP/Pulmonary or Cardiac Rehab?: PT, OT, SLP
  • RT/Equipment: CPAP, BIPAP-- RT will set up and manage, RNs may need to trouble shoot.
  • How many shifts of unit/department specific orientation: 1 week
  • Additional Notes: We have a really good culture and close teamwork. Everyone works together to get the work done- RNs are expected to help answer call lights, help out CNAs, etc.
