Our company, a leader in the manufacturing industry, is seeking a dynamic and experienced General Manager/Chief Operating Officer (GM/COO) to join our executive team. This permanent, full-time position will be responsible for overseeing the day-to-day operations of our company, leading our team towards achieving our strategic goals, and ensuring the financial health and growth of our organization. The ideal candidate will have a minimum of 5 years of experience in a Manager, General Manager, or COO role, preferably within the manufacturing or farming industry, specifically permanent crops.Responsibilities
Collaborate with the CEO and other executives to create, implement, and evaluate strategies that align with the company's goals.Manage several departments and lead a team of 5 to 10 direct reports.Oversee budgeting, forecasting, and ensure the company operates within the budget.Conduct investment analysis and evaluations, including underwriting of new investments.Review and analyze financial statements and apply knowledge of accounting principles.Identify areas for improvement and implement plans to optimize operations.Develop and implement strategies to mitigate potential risks.Manage acquisition of farms and real estate development.Foster a company culture that aligns with our mission and vision.Communicate and implement company policies.Utilize strong project management skills to define project objectives, strategize, and implement the best course of action.Qualifications
Minimum 5 years of experience as a Manager/General Manager/COO.Bachelor’s degree or Masters in Business, Accounting/Finance, Ag related field or other relevant fields.Experience in farming, ideally permanent crops. Experience in nuts farming, specifically Pistachio and Almonds, is a big plus.Experience in managing several departments and a team of 5 to 10 direct reports.Good knowledge of financial statements reviews and analysis as well as big picture knowledge of accounting principles.Strong decision making, critical thinking, problem-solving skills, management, and leadership.Fast learner with good time management skills.Proficient with office software applications, especially advanced knowledge of Excel.Experience in real estate acquisition and development.Experience in underwriting of new investments.Ability to implement management plans and strategies.Strong project management skills.Excellent communication skills.Why join us?
