Primary responsibilities are to inform and advise senior leaders so that we can most-effectively manage this element of our complex asset management business. The ideal candidate for this role will have the experience and expertise to develop a thorough understanding of internal needs, external options, vendor terms, and future demands. Facilitative in nature, the role will effectively inform and advise supply and demand dynamics, cost effectiveness, procurement alternatives and efficiency opportunities, and provide insightful planning, forecasting and executive guidance. In summary, the role will bring analysis and insight to help answer the question “is there a better way”… better quality, lower cost, minimized risks … to deliver on these essential elements of our business model.Reporting to the Office of the CFO, it will be important to build a strong working partnership with key stakeholders including the Chief Operating Officer, Chief Investment Officer, other members of the Management Committee, and peers across the organization.This position is responsible for helping to develop and implement a framework, and for providing regular & timely monitoring, advising, and reporting for information & technology decision support, cost management and forecasting.Responsible for developing a thorough and real time understanding of changing business data and technology needs in order to provide relevant and timely analysis and reporting, and decision support for Senior Management. The candidate will bring seasoned experience and depth of business understanding in order to inventory, evaluate, analyze and advise C-level leaders to inform and assist ongoing information & technology related financial decisions that meet or exceed business needs while maximizing economic outcomes.While this role is an individual contributor role by design, successful collaboration across peers in technology, operations, investments, institutional services, finance and legal teams across the Firm will be essential.Primary ResponsibilitiesPartners with the COO, CIO & CFO and their organizations and other stakeholders, to develop and maintain a comprehensive inventory and understanding of information & technology business needs (existing and changing) and related vendor costs across data, technology and operations, across varied stakeholders. Deliverables support sourcing decisions, ongoing cost management, financial planning, analysis, and reporting.Manages information to facilitate regular and ad hoc reviews with the CFO, COO, CIO, and CEO, among others, regarding all elements of information & technology supplier capital and operating expenditures.Monitors trends and provides decision support reporting and analytics around key business needs and related spending considerations.Experienced in working directly with technology experts, investment teams, finance, and other business stakeholders to help inform financial implications of requests and proposed solutions.Leads cross-functional analysis and reporting with regard to global information & technology activities, providing timely and actionable insights for decision support and proactive awareness of cost implications.Supports relevant global regulatory, shareholder, and third party information & technology related financial reporting.Assists COO and General Counsel with data and analysis to aid in their complex vendor negotiation efforts and to quantify potential and ultimate outcomes.Essential Skills and Prior Work Experience:Masters in Finance or MBA7-10 years experience as a subject matter expert with a deep understanding of all market data services, characteristics, and value influencers across asset classes, segments, servicesExtensive Data and Technology financial management experience in the Asset / Investment Management industry (Front, Middle, Back)In depth experience with and understanding of asset manager vendor and supplier economic considerationsExcellent knowledge of related financial data elements (market, reference, alternative, index services, etc.)Prior experience navigating complex stakeholder dynamics between CIO, COO, CFO cohortsStrong diplomacy and collaboration skills, internal and externalExperience in complex modeling and reporting, ideally leveraging modernized reporting and analytical skillsWork LocationThis is a Boston based, highly collaborative role that will be expected in the Boston office the majority (3+) of days/weekLimited to no travel expectedPC/Technical SkillsExperience with sophisticated modeling and reporting tools such as Anaplan, Hyperion, Excel, and PythonMS Office Suite (including advanced Excel and Powerpoint skills)Solid background in information technology, investment management, investment operations, and financial reportingEEOC and Diversity StatementLoomis Sayles is deeply committed to building a diverse and inclusive workforce in which talented individuals can realize their full potential and contribute to our growth and success.
