Job Summary

Join our dynamic team in Charlotte, NC, where you will prioritize and coordinate ultrasound exams with nursing units, radiologists, and referring physicians. Perform ultrasound exams in accordance with departmental protocols and standards, while providing adequate patient care related to the requested exam. Operate ultrasound and associated equipment with proficiency.

Essential Functions
* Examine requests and verify orders for each assigned patient.
* Assist Radiologist in performing invasive procedures.
* Evaluate the technical quality of exams and develop superior techniques for enhanced efficiency within the department.
* Support and contribute to the Patient-Centered Care Philosophy by understanding that every staff member is a Caregiver, whose role is to meet the needs of each patient.
* Report malfunctioning equipment to the Assistant Director, Lead Sonographer, and/or Engineer.
* Operate the Radiology computer system, including entering and charging exams and supplies.
* Maintain assigned work area in a neat and orderly fashion and assist in keeping the area completely stocked.
* Adhere to departmental rules and regulations while performing in a professional manner at all times.

SkillsPhysical Requirements
* Requires moderate to heavy physical efforts in lifting and moving patients, equipment, and supplies up to 600 pounds with assistance.
* Work involves walking, standing, reaching, stooping, bending, pushing, pulling, and lifting during normal operation.
* Requires mental skills to read and comprehend patient orders and technical materials.
* Motor coordination needed to operate heavy and delicate equipment.
* Intact sense of sight and hearing.

Education
* Graduate of a comprehensive Medical Diagnostic Ultrasound program required.
* Associate's or Bachelor's Degree in Medical Sonography also accepted.
* ARDMS or ARRT (S) certification required.
* BLS (AHA or ARC) certification required.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $55.00 - $57.00 per hour
