    Job Details
  • Pediatric Stepdown nursing position.
  • The unit consists of 12 inpatient beds.
  • Nurse to Patient Ratio: 1:4;1:3.
  • Age Group of Patient Population Seen/Treated: Infant;Pediatric;Adolescent;Adult.
  • Common Diagnosis/Treatment: Seizures, TBI, trauma, muscular dystrophies, encephalitis, neurosurgical (VP shunt, hydrocephalus, craniosynostosis).
    Job Requirements
  • Strong Neuro skills REQUIRED.
  • Familiarity with caring for patients with neurological abnormalities.
  • Willingness to work a rotating shift; 36 hours per week, every other weekend and a holiday.
    Schedule Information
  • The nurse must be willing to work a rotating shift.
  • 36 hours per week every other weekend and a holiday.
    Unit Specific Information
  • Strong Neuro skills required.
  • Float support may be available to other 'like' general care areas.
    Additional Details
  • Contract Length: 91 days.
  • Select All Applicable Airway/Respiratory treatment or care/support: Trach Care; Chest Tube Set-up/Care Drains; Epidural Pumps; EVD/ICP; Feeding Tubes; PCA Pumps; PICC/Central Lines; Syringe Pumps; Traction/Halo/Pin Care; Wound Vac.
  • The unit performs gene therapy infusions for SMA and participates in clinical drug trials.
  • Conditions treated include: Hydrocephalus, brain and spinal cord tumors, Intractable epilepsy, Spina Bifida, Craniofacial Disorders.
