$160,000.00/yr - $200,000.00/yrPosition Overview:Our client is seeking a talented and driven Corporate Counsel with 2+ years of experience from a law firm or in-house role. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in commercial contracts, particularly in the areas of technology, Software as a Service (SaaS), and data privacy. The Corporate Counsel will provide legal support across a broad range of legal matters and work closely with our business teams to help navigate legal risks and opportunities.Key Responsibilities:Draft, review, and negotiate a variety of commercial contracts, including SaaS agreements, licensing agreements, data processing agreements, and other vendor contracts.Provide guidance on data privacy laws and regulations, including GDPR, CCPA, and other relevant privacy frameworks.Advise on legal risks associated with new and ongoing business initiatives, including technology implementations, data usage, and third-party relationships.Work cross-functionally with internal teams such as product, sales, and compliance to ensure legal compliance and support business growth.Stay up-to-date with relevant changes in technology, privacy, and contract law to proactively inform the business on emerging issues.Manage and coordinate with external legal advisors as needed.Assist in the development and implementation of company-wide legal policies and procedures.Qualifications:J.D. from an accredited law school and admission to the New York State Bar.Minimum 2 years of legal experience, preferably in-house or at a law firm, with a focus on commercial contracts related to technology, SaaS, or data privacy.Strong understanding of data privacy laws and regulations, including GDPR, CCPA, and other relevant privacy frameworks.Excellent contract negotiation and drafting skills.Ability to work independently and manage multiple projects with a solution-oriented approach.Strong analytical skills and attention to detail.Effective communicator with the ability to collaborate with both legal and non-legal stakeholders.Seniority level
