    Job Details
  • Critical Care nursing position at Great Plains Health
  • PCU & ICU - 48 hours
  • # of Beds: 32
  • Nurse/Patient Ratios: ICU 1:2, PCU 1:4, MedSurg 1:5
  • Common diagnoses include heavy cath lab procedures, sepsis, neurosurgery, drug & alcohol abuse, COPD, CHF, etc.
  • Experience: First time traveler okay. Prefer ICU background, otherwise must have PCU background.
    Job Requirements
  • Must be able to titrate drips
  • Experience with common critical care drips required
  • Comfortable taking PCU (1:4) or MedSurg (1:5) patients
    Schedule Information
  • 12Hr shifts: 545a-6p & 545p-6a
  • Schedule is out for 6-weeks at a time, 2 weeks in advance
  • Weekend Requirements: At least every other, if not most all weekends
  • Holiday Requirements: Varies, but usually we will staff them into holidays, as needed
    Unit Specific Information
  • Floating Requirements: No floating outside of this mixed unit
  • Scrub Color: Royal blue scrubs
  • How many shifts of unit specific orientation: 2 shifts on the unit after hospital orientation
    Additional Details
  • ACLS, BLS, NIHSS required
  • Charge nurse on each shift
  • Hospitalist in house 24/7
  • RT in ICU 24/7
  • Tele tech is located in the ICU
