THE JOB:

Bavette’s Steakhouse is seeking an experienced Sommelier to enhance our exceptional steakhouse dining experience through expert wine pairings and guest engagement. This role is a dynamic opportunity for an on-call Sommelier, in a busy restaurant. Our ideal candidate has a strong foundation in wine service, thrives in a high-volume, upscale dining environment, and possesses the ability to elevate guest experiences with expert recommendations and engaging storytelling.

THE STARTING RATE: $15.0287 plus tips

THE DAY-TO-DAY:

• Guide guests through wine selections, food pairings, and premium bottle offerings to enhance their dining experience.

• Maintain an extensive knowledge of Bavette’s curated wine list.

• Assist with wine list curation, purchasing, and monthly inventory management in collaboration with leadership.

• Provide VIP-level service, ensuring seamless interactions with guests at every table.

• Work alongside servers, bartenders, and leadership to drive wine sales and maximize guest satisfaction.

• Maintain meticulous inventory control and proper wine storage.

• This ON-CALL position will guarantee a minimum of 3 shifts per week.

THE IDEAL CANDIDATE:

• Must be at least 21 years of age or older.

• 1+ Years of prior relevant experience as a Sommelier.

• High School Diploma, GED or equivalent.

• Obtained a Court of Master Introductory certification or WSET level 1.

• Experience with making wine pairing recommendations and upselling.
