$185,000.00/yr - $200,000.00/yrAscendo Resources is currently seeking an Associate Director of Operations for a full-time role located in Brooklyn, New York.Our client is a top leader in the entertainment industry, known across the country. This position is fully on-site, is approximately 9am to 5pm, and offers full benefits (health, dental, PTO, and 401k).We are seeking the best talent in the entertainment and hospitality industry. This role offers a full-time schedule involving nights, weekends, and holidays.What You're Doing:Report directly to the Director of Operations and acts as a senior leader in their absence.Partner with operation managers to provide strategic leadership and support.Train new managers and design training programs for staff development.Deliver performance feedback, coaching, and counseling to enhance team effectiveness.Co-facilitate interdepartmental meetings and communicate event-specific requirements.Plan and supervise security operations and staffing assignments.Project venue expenses and event-related costs.Assist in developing and managing departmental budgets.Implement policies and procedures.Analyze operational data to identify trends and drive improvements.Build and maintain vendor relationships.Ensure compliance with industry regulations and standards.Develop crisis management strategies for operational preparedness.Oversee technology systems to streamline operations and enhance efficiency.Communicate proactively with stakeholders to keep them informed and engaged.Identify staff training needs and growth opportunities.Establish key performance indicators (KPIs) to measure success.Enhance the customer experience through operational excellence.Introduce sustainability initiatives to minimize environmental impact.Event Responsibilities:Pre-Event Walkthrough:Confirm proper signage is displayed throughout the venue.Ensure all floors are free of debris and address any safety hazards immediately.Verify that security measures are in place, including pass sheets, security signage, stanchions, and barricades for crowd control, smoking areas, and restricted zones.Check that radio communication systems are operational and distribute necessary equipment to key personnel.Inspect lighting, door functionality, and address any unexpected repair and maintenance (R&M) issues before opening.Lead pre-shift meetings to align the team on operational priorities.During Event Operations:Manage employee breaks to ensure continuous coverage.Conduct venue sweeps to respond to medical and security calls.Oversee entry points to ensure smooth and secure operations.Supervise coat check operations, assisting staff as needed.Monitor guest lines throughout the event and adjust as necessary for efficiency, safety, and security.Post-Show Responsibilities:Shut down air conditioning and heating systems; check all fire safety points.Ensure all patrons have exited, and all areas are properly secured and locked.Complete the End of Day Report.File any necessary incident reports.Who You Are:Experience: 3–7 years in service or operations roles within live music venues, stadiums, arenas, or the broader hospitality industry, or equivalent experience in related fields.Management Background: At least 2–3 years of management experience with a strong track record of overseeing high-volume operations and leading diverse teams.Work Environment: Ability to thrive in fast-paced, high-pressure settings, especially during live events and performances.Problem-Solving: Strong decision-making skills with the ability to remain professional and composed under pressure.Leadership & Communication: Exceptional leadership and communication skills with a focus on hospitality and delivering outstanding guest experiences.Operational Knowledge: Familiarity with venue operations, technology, and safety protocols for live events.Technical Proficiency: Required proficiency in Google Workspace applications, including Docs, Sheets, Slides, Gmail, Drive (including Shared Drives), Google Groups, and specific tools such as F3, F4, F7, and S95 for seamless team collaboration.Physical Requirements: Must be able to work extended shifts, including overnight, and stand for prolonged periods.Seniority level
