Job SummaryAs a Senior Process Engineer, you will support a brand new production line. General functions: monitor & interpret data outputs from processes, optimize & improve existing processes, ensure process quality. You will support production by ensuring equipment is properly maintained, guiding troubleshooting efforts, and leading process improvement initiatives. Individuals in this role are expected to serve as mentors to junior engineers and collaborate with other cross-functional teams in the organization to achieve production goals.Career Development:
In this role you will be exposed to multiple facilities and learn several glass manufacturing disciplines. Additionally, you will receive leadership training and manage high visibility projects requiring strong organizational skills.
Essential Functions Include:• Assist in the installation of high-performance laser processing systems• Learn to operate, maintain, and optimize laser processing equipment necessary to producesmart glass products.• Work alongside maintenance technicians to troubleshoot faulty equipment.• Work cross functionally with Production, Quality, and Maintenance to address productquality issues.• Conduct several tolerance analyses for the product assembly process to ensure productspecifications• Assist in validation of production line through IQ, OQ, PQ, PPQ processes• Analyze existing processes and suggest equipment modifications to increase machineefficiency, reduce downtime, and reduce changeover time.• Work closely with Quality Management Software (QMS) to track all manufacturingprocedure updates, process deviations and update PFMEA as necessary.• Assist in determining process control limits for laser process equipment.• Understands best safety practices for working with complex laser processing tools.• Handle materials as needed. This requires the ability to lift up to 40 lbs occasionally.• Travel up to 10% to Cardinal production facilities and partners (domestic & international).
Minimum Requirements:4 Year Engineering Degree (Mechanical, Manufacturing/Industrial.,Chemical etc.)5+ Years of Engineering Experience in a manufacturing settingo Experience communicating with international equipment vendorso Comfortable operating around large equipment.o Ability to use software required for Preventive Maintenance and Minitab statisticalanalysis.o 2+ years of industrial laser processing experienceo High volume manufacturing experience in either smart window, flat panel display,semi-conductor or photo-voltaic products.o Ability to communicate complicated concepts and draft technical reports whenneeded.
Desired Qualifications:o M.S. (Mechanical Eng. / Optics / Manufacturing Eng. / Industrial Eng.)o Experience with PLCs (programmable logic controllers)o Statistics experienceo LSS green belt / black beltBenefits:Salary paid bi-weekly.
