Requirements

A minimum of 1 year as an RN with recent experience in the specialty applied to.

Responsibilities

• MedSurg RNs provide bedside care for a variety of patients and execute individualized patient assessments to create an individualized plan of care.
• MedSurg RNs prepare equipment and assist physicians during examination and treatment of patients.
• MedSurg RN job responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
• Preparing, administering, and recording prescribed medications.
• Initiating alternative action when adverse symptomology is displayed.
• Changing dressings, inserting catheters, starting IVs when necessary.
