About this Job As a Rehabilitation Registered Nurse, you will work with patients who have experienced a serious illness, injury, or disability to help them overcome their limitations and live more independently. Rehab nurses monitor patients' progress, determine their needs, and develop effective care plans. They perform various nursing tasks, but also act as emotional cheerleaders, providing support and encouragement to help patients stay motivated.
Duties & Responsibilities Rehabilitation nurses are responsible for the overall care and well-being of their patients. Their duties include:
- Assessing patients' physical, emotional, and psychological needs
- Developing and implementing individualized care plans
- Providing education and support to patients and their families
- Maintaining accurate and detailed records of patient progress
Requirements To be successful in this role, you will need to have:
- 1-2 years of recent experience in rehabilitation nursing
- An active license or certification as a registered nurse in one of the 50 US states
- Additional certifications or requirements may be necessary depending on the specific facility or unit
- A strong desire to help others and make a positive impact in the lives of your patients
