A growing company in Newburyport, MA is looking for both apprentice and experienced woodworkers to join their team!

Job Functions and Responsibilities

1. Follow instruction and learn architectural woodworking and cabinetry (all aspects).
2. Perform woodworking or other tasks as directed and instructed by Shop Foreman.
3. Set up and operate all equipment as directed, but not before being instructed by Job Captain and approved for operation by the Shop Foreman.
4. Be proficient in the following: milling lumber, panel processing, ripping, crosscutting, and sanding.
5. Learn to read and understand blue prints.
6. Develop an understanding of wood products and their characteristics and properties, as well as the uses of materials.
7. Own tools as required by Shop Foreman.
8. Maintain a positive attitude and be self-motivated, organized, energetic, cooperative, and hard working.
9. Be punctual and maintain consistent attendance. (Including occasional offered OT).
10. Report any and all unsafe conditions and acts immediately to a supervisor or the Human Resource Manager.
11. Maintain equipment in good working condition and perform general housekeeping duties (cleaning work areas, replacing items used, etc.)
12. Adhere to all policies and procedures as outlined in the company handbook and safety manual.

Physical Requirements

• Lifting, pushing and/or moving heavy objects
• Walking, standing (on concrete floor for more than 8 hours per day), bending, stretching, and reaching
• Manual hand dexterity
• Repetitive movements
• MUST be able to pass a 10 panel drug screening

This position is 1st shift, Monday-Friday. Pay starts around $18/hr. but will vary based on experience! There is room for growth and other opportunities within.
