Registered Nurse (RN) - Ortho - PRN III - Days at Norman Regional Health System summary:
A Registered Nurse (RN) in the orthopedic unit provides specialized nursing care for patients undergoing hip, knee, shoulder, and ankle surgeries, as well as managing low-level cardiac and med-surg patients. Responsibilities include collaborating with healthcare professionals, assessing patient needs, developing care plans, and delivering nursing interventions. This role requires a current RN license and preferably a Bachelor's or Master's degree in nursing, with a focus on providing high-quality care in a recognized center of excellence.
Overview:
Compensation
- $42/hr
- Work 2 shifts/wk.
- Evening differential $2.50/hr.
- Night differential $3.00/hr.
- Weekend differential $3.00/hr.
Ortho/Spine is a 32 bed unit specializing in orthopedic patients. We have disease specific certification from the Joint Commission in Hip Replacement, Knee Replacement and Hip Fx patients which deems us a center of excellence. We also care for Total Shoulder and Ankle patients as well as other fractures. We also care for low level cardiac patients and some med-surg patients.
Responsibilities:
RN essential functions include, but are not limited to:
- collaboration with other health professionals, assessment, analyzing assessment data.
- Establishing goals, planning care strategy, establishing priorities of care, implementing care.
- Delegating tasks safely, providing safe direct and indirect nursing care, evaluating responses to interventions.
- Performing additional nursing functions in accordance with knowledge and skills acquired beyond basic nursing preparation.
Qualifications:
Education
- Diploma or Associate’s degree (ADN) required, Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN), or Master's of Science in Nursing (MSN) preferred.
Experience
- Previous experience in healthcare field preferred.
(Above requirements can be met by the equivalent combination of education and experience).
Licensure / Certification
- Current Oklahoma Registered Nurse license or active Multistate RN license.
- Basic Life Support (BLS) training or retraining is required during orientation prior to providing patient care.
- Current Basic Life Support (BLS) is required to be maintained thru re-training for duration of employment.
