As a Pharmacist at Samaritan Pharmacy-Lincoln City, I prepare and dispense medications while assessing the clinical status of diverse patient populations, ranging from neonates to geriatrics. I provide crucial drug information to the medical team and educate patients on medication management, including immunizations and discharge medications. My role is dedicated to ensuring optimal patient care and collaborating within a multidisciplinary team to enhance community health outcomes.

Summary

  • JOB SUMMARY/PURPOSE
    • Performs the duties of Pharmacist as prescribed by state and federal statutes as well as SHS policies. Prepares and dispenses medication; assesses clinical status of patients (neonates, infants, pediatrics, adolescents, adults and geriatrics). Provides drug information to the medical team. Educates patients.
  • DEPARTMENT DESCRIPTION

    • Samaritan Pharmacy-Lincoln City is a community pharmacy located next to Samaritan North Lincoln Hospital. The pharmacy is open to any member of the public. The primary role of this pharmacy is to dispense community patient prescriptions. They also offer immunizations, medication management services, and discharge medications to bedside. The pharmacy is staffed by experienced pharmacists and pharmacy technicians who are dedicated to patient care.

  • EXPERIENCE/EDUCATION/QUALIFICATIONS
    • Current unencumbered Oregon Pharmacist Licensure required.
    • Previous hospital pharmacy experience preferred.
    • All job offers are contingent upon the candidate passing a pre-employment/post offer drug screen.
    • SHS Pharmacy Administration - Outpatient Pharmacist (if applicable):
      • Healthcare Provider Level BLS required within three (3) months of hire.
      • Successful completion of Pharmacist Immunization Certification required within one (1) year of hire.
  • KNOWLEDGE/SKILLS/ABILITIES
    • Communication - Effective written and oral communication skills to explain complex issues, exchange information between team members, and tactfully discuss issues. Ability to perform group presentations and listen to and understand complex information and ideas. 
    • Computer Literacy - Knowledge of electronic equipment, computer hardware and software, including applications. Ability to operate applications, set up functions, enter data, and manipulate and process information.
    • Social Perceptiveness - Ability to work with a diverse population from pediatrics to geriatrics. Basic understanding of age-related differences in caring for and/or communicating with patients and caregivers. Possess personal sensitivity to the needs and experiences of others and a non-judgmental attitude towards persons of differing standards, values, lifestyles and ages. 
    • Team Building - Ability to work, function and communicate on a multi-disciplinary team. Possess the knowledge and skills to develop constructive and cooperative working relationships with others and maintain them over time. Demonstrates teamwork. Ability to assist and work well with others.
