Overview:

The Hotel Sales Manager is responsible for performing key sales and marketing activities for the hotel in order to maximize revenue.  This position will actively solicit business with a focus on corporate, group event and leisure packaging travel markets.  Strong interpersonal, organizational and presentation skills required for this leadership role.  Also responsible to inspire and mentor all hotel associates to on this approach. 

 

PRIMARY DUTIES AND ACCOUNTABILITIES

Account Management and New Business Development

  • Assists General Manager and Regional Sales Leaders with the creation of an annual sales and marketing plans driven to surpass group and event revenue Hotel Sales Manager’s focus is on daily, weekly, monthly & quarterly sales activity goals that support the Annual Plan.  
  • Responsible for overseeing the retention and acquisition of accounts by growing existing accounts and building new business through call and lead conversion.
  • Builds and maintains relationships with key clients. Creates and solicits new business through innovative
  • Solicit sales bookings with target accounts and travel markets through effective oral and written communication while overseeing rate, date and space commitments for group room sales within the hotel.
  • Assigns and shares in group event administration at the hotel. Duties include greeting all groups and individual tours, placing welcome baskets in group contacts' room and taking care of any final items with the group at check out.
  • Oversees training, administration, and communication related to group banquet event orders, room blocks & volume account agreements & hotel promotions.
  • Hotel Sales Manager prepares reports & leads Bi-Weekly Sales Strategy meetings for property & company leaders. Required to keep all department forms up to date, easily accessed & in use.      
  • Review and utilize franchise sales tools and global sales associates. Actively participate in and monitor hotel RFP efforts for corporate, FIT and group business.
  • Review and utilize franchise marketing tools to design print and electronic advertising and marketing promotions for the hotel.
  • Responsible for representation within the business community and hospitality industry that expose the hotel to opportunities and create a positive public image. Participate in key organizations as recommended by management and Regional Director of Sales.

 

Financial and Marketing Business Analysis

  • Inputting and retrieving information from hotel sales software system for file maintenance, correspondence and preparation of forecasts and marketing budget.
  • Works with the General Manager crafting the annual sales & marketing plan, with defined initiatives.
  • Works with General Manager to develop advertising and promotion campaigns, and provides timely reports to track ROI.

Additional Guest Service Support

  • Offer guests assistance whenever
  • Responsible for resolving escalated customer relations
  • Answers inquiries pertaining to hotel policies and
  • Must appropriately address guest requests to ensure customers are satisfied with the hotel’s services and
  • Responsible for positively representing and promoting the
  • Ensures systems and procedures are in place and followed for guest safety and security

Other Duties as Assigned

  • Fills in for vacant shifts as
  • Assists with sales and marketing efforts as needed

 

 

SKILLS, EDUCATIONAL BACKGROUND AND EXPERIENCE

  • Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent years of relevant work experience
  • 3+ years of hospitality supervisory experience requir
  • Prior sales experience highly
  • Prior experience using Windows-based software including Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook highly preferred.
