Team Collaboration:

  • Collaborates with the Associate Chief Anesthetist Officer (ACAO) and Regional Medical Director (RMD) to support clinical operational leadership in delivering strategic priorities for new and existing programs.
  • Assists in the development and execution of an Implementation Plan aligned with Sound Anesthesia’s growth strategy.
  • Partners with senior clinical leadership to develop and implement a facility Anesthesia Improvement Plan (AIP) as part of new site implementation planning.

Qualifications and Skills:

  • Must have a Graduate Degree in Nurse Anesthesia (CRNA) from an accredited program.
  • Must be a Certified Registered Nurse Anesthetist (CRNA) through the National Board of Certification and Recertification for Nurse Anesthetists (NBCRNA).
  • Must possess a valid and active registered nursing license and Advanced Practice Registered Nurse (APRN) license in the applicable state(s).
  • Minimum 3 years of experience as a Chief CRNA or similar high-level clinical leadership position within an anesthesia department or a similar clinical environment.
  • Must be actively practicing clinical anesthesia to maintain your clinical skills, stay updated with advancements in the field, and understand the practical challenges of providing anesthesia care.
  • Must have impressive leadership, organizational, and communication skills
  • Excellent clinician with strong planning, diagnostic, and crisis management skills
  • Knowledge of organizational policies, procedures, systems, and objectives
  • Ability to use various computer systems and applications
  • Ability to develop and maintain effective relationships with medical and administrative staff
Practice in the Heart of the Community

Living and Working Locally:

  • Candidate must reside in or relocate to the Portland, OR metropolitan area.
  • Clinically based schedule with administrative time.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Covers Sound Anesthesia programs in OR, WA, and CA, supervising chief CRNAs to ensure successful implementation and continuous improvement of programs.
  • Delivers orientation presentations to new team members and trains site clinical leadership and staff to adopt Sound Anesthesia’s culture, protocols, best practices, and group norms at new and existing sites.
  • Collaborates with the ACAO, RMD, and RDO to develop and implement anesthesia improvement planning, including site implementation planning, stabilizing unstable contracts, and facilitating communication with hospital and Sound Anesthesia leadership.
  • Provides clinical anesthesia in facilities requiring additional staff and assumes a clinical leadership role when needed to stabilize contracts and improve anesthesia teams.
  • Oversees budgetary management for new and unstable facilities, ensuring chief CRNAs are trained in schedule development, reviewing CRNA overtime and variance requests, and aligning points-of-service within budget parameters.
  • Partners with credentialing and revenue departments to ensure compliance with provider enrollment requirements, billing compliance, and information request management.
