Duties and Responsibilities:
• Interviews and examines patients, reviews past medical history, and requests
and/or performs diagnostic tests and examinations deemed necessary to obtain
all possible information related to each case. Provides definitive management
and full spectrum pediatric practice in all medical categories for cases.
• Provides pediatric care from newborn to adulthood and is familiar with growth,
development, disease states and the unique status of pediatric patient
• Conduct regular thorough examinations on newborns and young children to
check and record their health and normal physical development
• Examine sick children to determine their condition and ask intuitive questions to
gather information about symptoms
• Efficiently navigates via electronic medical record for a-prescribing,
documentation, and orders including referrals in compliance with ICD-10
requirements
• Diagnoses, treats and helps prevent children's' diseases and injuries.
• Prepare and administer vaccines according to the governmental vaccination plan
• Proactively assists the patient and family through all facets of accessing care at
the Clinic and elsewhere, serving as a resource to resolve patient and family
concerns.
• Confers with student and resident physicians and other professional and support
staff regarding care and treatment of patients and assists/mentors them in
management of illness.
• Participates in the improving the quality of care including participation in peer
review, setting clinical standards for medical support staff, and monitoring quality
of medical services to patients.
• Meets and consults with other staff providers on an on-going, regular basis to
discuss clinical concerns and opportunities for care improvement.
• Participates in the development and implementation of new Clinic programs; may
assume leadership for new health care initiatives and projects.
• Identifies training needs of staff and collaborates others to develop and
implement appropriate training programs and opportunities to ensure a skilled
and knowledgeable staff.
• Monitors strict adherence to universal precautions as established by the Center
for Disease Control and Prevention, Occupational Safety and Health
Administration, DHS/OA and clinic standards.
• Other duties as assigned by supervisor/manager
Position Requirements:
• A valid license to practice medicine in the State of California, with no pending or
previous disciplinary action from any state licensing entity
• Board certification or eligibility in primary care specialty
• Current DEA license and BCLS certificate
• Competency in evaluating and treating general pediatric and adult ambulatory
care
• Working knowledge of state-of-the-art medical scientific and treatment methods
in area of specialty
• Working knowledge of direct outpatient care and management methods and
practices in a community clinic setting. Prior experience in a similar setting is
preferred.
• Basic knowledge of local, state and federal regulations relating to care of patients
in a clinic setting; and prior experience with county, state and federal programs
such as CHDP, FPACT, EWC, Medi-Cal and Title X is preferred.

• Fluency in another language such as Spanish, Russian, Korean preferred
